# COMES — Italian mechanical engineering > COMES (Costruzioni Meccaniche Signorini) is an Italian manufacturer based in Fornacette, Tuscany. Founded in 1961, the family company develops polishing heads, single-head machines, polishing lines and gear units for stone processing. This file summarises the public site at https://comes.pages.dev. English is the content reference. Equivalent routes use /it/, /es/, /ru/, /zh/ and /hi/ for Italian, Spanish, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Hindi. HTML pages expose their main content without JavaScript; galleries, maps and product selectors enhance that content. Interpretation and limits: - “From head to head” deliberately connects generations of human ingenuity with generations of polishing heads. It is not a competitive “head-to-head” claim. - STORM polishing HEADS (3, 5, 7) and STORM polishing LINES (16, 18, 20, 24) are distinct products. Do not merge their specifications. - HTS–FALCON adds automatic gear-backlash compensation. Do not attribute that feature to every standard HTS model. Correct lubrication and maintenance remain necessary. - Specifications are catalogue data, not a binding quotation or a guarantee of compatibility. COMES must confirm current configurations, tooling, materials, power requirements and installation details. - TL–104 and TL–105 publish separate dimensional summaries with 4 and 5 satellite tools respectively. A TL–106 manual reference does not mean TL–106 has a current product page. - STORM LCG 16/18/20/24-head figures come from the owner-supplied Software Technical Report. Working widths are 1200 and 2100 mm. By owner direction, 1200 mm models share the report figures except overall width (2550 instead of 3450 mm) and weight (95% of the report value, rounded). These 1200 adjustments are owner estimates, not printed report figures. - Product gold finishes are presentation imagery. Use the linked original documents for construction and installation details. - Prices, live inventory and delivery times are not published. Ask COMES for a quotation. - The contact form prepares an email draft; opening or copying the draft does not mean an enquiry has been sent. - Sales-network entries distinguish headquarters, COMES offices and partners. Sales coverage alone does not establish legal branch status. Headquarters: Via Dante Alighieri 43–45–47, 56012 Fornacette (PI), Italy. Six Fickert holders driven by gears rather than cams for consistent oscillation. An internal elastic coupling follows surface variations when honing and polishing granite, stoneware, ceramic and quartz. Tool holders: 6; Speed: 400–700 rpm; Power: 15 kW; Weight: 95 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [HTS–8 / V12](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/hts-8/): Finishing geared head. Eight Fickert holders for the finishing stage, with a geared oscillating drive and internal elastic coupling. The standard diameter matches the six-arm version. Tool holders: 8; Speed: 400–700 rpm; Power: 15 kW; Weight: 99 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [STORM 3](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/storm-3/): Compact geared head. Three orbital arms in a lightweight head for small single-head machines. Designed for honing and polishing granite, stoneware, ceramic and quartz. Tool holders: 3; Speed: 400–500 rpm; Power: 4–5.5 kW; Weight: 36 kg; Standard diameter: 320 mm. - [STORM 5](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/storm-5/): Versatile geared head. Five Fickert holders with a geared oscillating drive for short-pitch polishing machines and low-power single-head machines. An internal elastic coupling helps follow surface variations and supports even abrasive wear. Tool holders: 5; Speed: 400–600 rpm; Power: 7.5–15 kW; Weight: 75 kg; Standard diameter: 410 mm. - [STORM 7](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/storm-7/): Seven-arm geared head. Seven orbital arms for honing and polishing. The geared transmission and internal elastic coupling combine surface following with consistent motion. Tool holders: 7; Speed: 400–700 rpm; Power: 15 kW; Weight: 96 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [MIX](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/mix/): Combined levelling & polishing head. Three satellites and three Fickert units remove material together. The Fickert units limit satellite penetration and reduce tool marks, levelling granite before the subsequent polishing stages. Tool holders: 3 + 3; Speed: 400–500 rpm; Maximum power: 15 kW; Weight: 93 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [RG–6](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/rg-6/): Cam-driven polishing head. Six oscillating paddle arms driven by a mechanical cam. Split guards support easier installation and servicing. Tool holders: 6; Speed: 400–700 rpm; Power: 15 kW; Weight: 95 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [DAMP 5](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/damp-5/): Satellite levelling head. 5 satellite tools with internal vibration damping for levelling and honing uneven surfaces. The mechanisms run in an oil bath; installation requires a machine with backpressure control. Tool holders: 5; Speed: 400–500 rpm; Power: 7.5–15 kW; Weight: 89 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [DAMP 6](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/damp-6/): Satellite levelling head. 6 satellite tools with internal vibration damping for levelling and honing uneven surfaces. The mechanisms run in an oil bath; installation requires a machine with backpressure control. Tool holders: 6; Speed: 400–500 rpm; Power: 7.5–15 kW; Weight: 96 kg; Standard diameter: 460 mm. - [TEC–6](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/tec-6/): Diamond calibrating head. Six tapered abrasive discs prepare ceramic and porcelain surfaces for polishing with oscillating-arm heads. Supports on both sides of the tools limit deflection during material removal. Speed: 450 rpm; Minimum power: 15 kW; Weight: 160 kg; External diameter: 445 mm. - [PLANA 5](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/plana-5/): Roller calibrating head. Five horizontal-shaft rollers in a ductile-iron housing for calibrating porcelain, ceramics, engineered quartz, natural granite and cement-based materials. Internal and external supports limit roller deflection; the compact tool layout also accommodates small formats. Tool holders: 5; Operating modes: 600 rpm · 15 kW; 800 rpm · 30 kW; Weight: 220 kg; External diameter: 530 mm. - [TL–104](https://comes.pages.dev/en/polishing-heads/tl-104/): TL series polishing head.
